THINGS TO DO IN NEWPORT AND SURROUNDING AREAS
Tour the Mansions - The Breakers, The Elms, Marble house or Rosecliff (Breakers most opulent/Vanderbilts, Elms are favorite grounds and used in tv show The Guilded Age, Marble house owner known for women’s suffrage, Rosecliff known for filming of Great Gatsby & ending of True lies along with 27 Dresses.
Audrain Car Museum (or larger one in Portsmouth)
Ocean drive starting in town @ King park, following along to Fort Adams (has a tour too), if you go just past the Eisenhower house, you can see Hammersmith farm (Jackie Kennedy’s stepfathers property on this is where they had their wedding reception) continue along ocean drive to Brenton state park.
Cliff walk & 40 steps- paved path along the water
Tour St. Mary’s Church- where the Kennedy’s were married (pew still there)
Bristol is town where first 4th was. Cute town with history
Boston- USS Constitution museum, North End, tons of museums, aquarium etc.

The Mooring- known for Bag of donuts (like hush puppies with seafood-Judge Judy has a table there) Good seafood and atmosphere

Brick Alley- American food and huge menu- nachos are giant!
Midtown oyster bar- oysters
CRU cafe- breakfast and lunch (Big portions and excellent food only open 8-3)
Castle Hill- excellent Sunday brunch. Reservations are required. There is a lighthouse on this property you can walk to from the parking lot after brunch.
White Horse Tavern- oldest tavern in US. Jackie Kennedy had her own spot upstairs
